Get to Know the Old Me
Before I started this blog, I had another one called “Things I Learned From Horses.” The first post here is in fact the same first post I wrote there back in 2019. At first, I thought about aggregating all of them over - get a bunch of content up right away.
But the more I think about it, the more I feel that my old blog doesn’t quite capture the things I want to talk about in this new one. Back then, I was much more focused on sharing the nitty gritty, technical aspects of riding. I was only just getting back into the sport after almost a decade off, and subsequently my journey was in a different place.
Now, several years and several horses later, I’m much more interested in sharing a personal journey than I am waxing poetic about transitions (though I still do that, too). That said, I also don’t want to lose all of that work entirely, as I told a few important stories that shed a lot of light on who I am as both a person and a rider. On that note, here are links to the posts that I feel are still worth sharing:
* The Power of Kindness
* This Sport Isn’t Fair - That’s OK.
* All the Times I Blew It
* Shiloh - The Horse Who Taught Me the Most
In case you want to read all of them, here is a link to my old blog:
